Widecombe Fair Dartmoor Gift Box
Widecombe fair is famous not just in Devon, but across the world. It all started more than 150 years ago with a cattle show, a Whiteface Dartmoor sheep sale and an old folk song telling the story of Uncle Tom Cobly and all. The Fair is held annually on the 2nd Tuesday in September and is traditionally a special occasion for Whiteface Dartmoor sheep known locally as Widecombes. To celebrate this fair we have produced a special Widecombe twine gift set of twooly scrumptious heathery colours. A twoolly Dartmoor gift!
A super sustainable general-purpose garden twine with exceptional strength and longevity. twool is soft to handle and kind to plants. It meets the needs and more of the increasingly environmentally aware modern gardener. Perfect for traditional garden use, floristry, crafts and gift wrapping and for you to get creative with!
Made from Dartmoor wool and entirely manufactured in the UK, twool continues doing good after it’s working life by releasing nitrogen as it biodegrades on the compost heap.
Also available with a twist!
twool twine is strong and because it withstands our British weather, makes it excellent for traditional garden use. Made from underused rare-breed wool, it is soft and kind to plants and is also wonderfully versatile.
British wool is still an underused resource in the UK. We grow it well, it is renewable, strong and durable and, as a natural product, it releases nitrogen as it biodegrades. What’s not to love about that!
‘Our commitment to sustainability, social value, British wool and British Heritage manufacturing has resulted in a sustainable range of products made with care and thought for the environment. Change must happen to save our world and small changes collectively can make a huge impact.’
