Gone Before!
There’s something very spiritual about using vintage garden tools in your garden. For me it reminds me of my childhood watching my grandfather tending his vegetables. I was lucky to inherit his garden tools when he passed away, the handles stained from our ruby red soil here in Devon.
Every-time I use them they remind me of him and I enjoy my gardening even more reminiscing on days gone by…
Look out for vintage garden tools at car boot sales they usually only need a good clean and a bit of TLC! They would have generally been forged in Britain so will be good and strong and will become your best friends! The ultimate in green recycling!

Couldn’t agree more. I see you have a twisted tine four-pronged handfork. Mine’s just lost its second tooth (which I wrote about on my blog http://helengazeley.typepad.co.uk/gardenwriter/2015/05/old-and-new-garden-handfork-design.html) and I really don’t like the modern three-pronged ones. I’m going to have to visit those car boot sales!
