We’ve a Spring in Our Step

It has been a miserable winter, wet, wet and more wet! Heartbreaking images of sheep up to their elbows in water, homes and businesses flooded and confused flowers blooming far too early.

However, it’s *not* all doom and gloom! The days are lengthening – hurrah! And would you look at the light? These daffs are practically glowing! Maybe it’s the fact that they’re grown on the banks of the Dart in the same way they have been for a hundred years!

In fact, the first signs of spring are all around us, with bulbs in bloom and the first lambs being born!

It’s the time of year when sheep farmers begin lambing. It’s a tiring, long and sometimes complicated time, but, speak to any old hand and they’ll tell you it’s the best of times!

As you know, our products are made from the wool of these beautiful sheep.Why Whiteface? Quite aside from wanting to secure a positive future for this ancient breed, they’ve wonderfully ‘lustre’ long fleeces, make great mothers and live well with all that Dartmoor has to throw at them. (Assuming they’re not up to their white faces in mud!)
