Whiteface Ways and The Edwardian Farm
It’s our annual clip collection this week from our small producers on the moor and this weekend Rod and I popped up to see Colin Pearce (a friend and farmer of Whiteface Dartmoor sheep) as he is just about to retire. Colin is responsible for writing the books, history and archive on the breed and one of the most inspirational, poetical wonderful countryman I have every meet, he is always hard to leave…
When we returned home I noticed there was a programme on BBC2 called Edwardian farm, I just happened to turn it on and there was Colin’s face staring right back at me I couldn’t believe it!!!! It is a wonderful programme all about farming our sheep on Dartmoor and weaving in days gone by, Colin is featured on it along with Patrick Coaker another historic Whiteface Breeding family. What a coincidence and how excited and privileged I am to be part of this!
