Wool Week
Wool Week is back! In it’s sixth year, the Campaign for Wool‘s Wool Week runs from the 5th – 11th October and celebrates the fabulousness that is the British wool industry. As you all know, this is something that we here at twool HQ share a passion for – and it’s not just about using wool in new and innovative ways 🙂
Our wool story starts with our farmers who care for their Whiteface Dartmoor Sheep – their beautiful wool takes a year to grow before it is spun into twool… a twine with a twist! The Board perform fantastic army manoeuvres with thousands of tonnes of wool every year as the annual clip is taken by farmers to the British Wool Marketing Board depots where it is graded and stored before being auctioned.
Wool Week wouldn’t be able to happen at all if it wasn’t for the fantastic work done by the British Wool Marketing Board – all the events of the week are rounded up here.
