twool 2019 – the best bits!

The best bits of 2019, what a year we’ve had! Nine years since coming up with twool, a British sustainable version of garden twine, this year has seen a huge shift in environmental issues from sustainability, carbon footprint, single-use plastics and generally becoming more environmentally aware.

The demand for sustainable products has never been so great and for us, this has meant that mainstream garden centre brands have approached us. We are delighted that 2019 has seen a fantastic uptake of our twool twine in Dobbies, Blue Diamond and Squires garden centres nationwide.

For a small UK manufacturing business like ours, this has been a significant achievement, a challenging learning curve, and something we’ve been working towards over these years. We’re excited to see what 2020 will bring! All gardeners need a bit of garden string and we’re proud to be the choice for environmentally aware gardeners, florists and crafters.

Here’s a little look at how you can use twool in the garden.

The show season for 2019 started with the golden year at Chelsea Flower Show. We were thrilled to have been asked to provide the twine for the creation of the Chelsea Flower Show memory wall as well as the Artisan Garden sign.

It was a fab crowd as ever, and we got to catch up with returning customers as well as meet new ones. Our Yorkshire flat cap even made a rather special appearance in Mark Gregory’s Welcome to Yorkshire garden

To bookend a brilliant show season for us we took the twool pop up shop to our first ever Padstow Christmas Festival.

We had an absolute hoot, great views, brilliant stallholders and wonderful customers. The Festival brings together the best of the Westcountry and was a foodie delight.
